Knut is a good teacher
Norwegian B1 completed! With many thanks to Knut Lyngstad for guiding me. It was quite a challenge for me, getting used to online lessons, 1 on 1, a lot of self-study, but I am happy that I tried it. Knut is a good teacher, you can work at your own pace, communication via email with questions in between lessons goes smoothly, I always received a prompt answer. It is no problem to introduce topics yourself to talk about. I highly recommend Knut if you want to learn the beautiful Norwegian language!
Really positive experience
I can honestly say that I had a really positive experience learning Norwegian with Knut on line for all the following reasons.
Lessons were really easy to book with his online booking system.
He was really punctual to all our lessons and fully understanding if I ever had to change plans.
He was hugely professional and always sent through helpful explanations and extra exercises on a particular point if I needed further practice on something.
Very reliable and trustworthy in all my dealings with him.
A great experience and would thoroughly recommend him if you´re thinking of learning the language at any level.
Each lesson is very rich and stimulating
I started studying Norwegian with Knut in Autumn 2023 and in about 6 months I reached A2 level. The lessons range from explanation of grammar rules to reading activities, from writing short texts to learning interesting information about Norwegian history and culture. Thus each lesson is very rich and stimulating. I also appreciated the flexible hours and the clarity of exposition, Knut indeed speaks excellent Italian. I recommend Knut’s lessons to anyone who wants to learn or improve their Norwegian!
Great person and amazing teacher
Knut is a great person and an amazing teacher. I knew basic Norwegian from almost 20 years ago and wanted to speak the language well enough to do job interviews and land a job in Norway. We started off with some regular exercises, but quickly changed that to having actual conversations as soon as my Norwegian got a little better. This flexibility and adaptation in teaching style really helped me with my interviews as I was learning to keep a conversation going and trust I could get my point across, rather than focusing solely on grammar and consistency. Knut helped me achieve exactly what I wanted, in a short amount of time. I am very grateful, since I now live and work in Norway and I don’t think I would have managed so well without Knut’s support.
A proper kick-start
Before moving from the Netherlands to Norway, I decided to take a private Norwegian course (beginner, A1-level) with Knut. As I was close to moving to Norway, it was very convenient that Knut was flexible and we managed to work out a good schedule for the course. What I really liked about his style of teaching is that he put emphasis on speaking during the lessons, as this was important for me. Although this was quite challenging at first, he made me feel comfortable and encouraged me to try anyway. This really helped me to get used to hearing and using Norwegian words and (simple) sentences. So all in all, I have had a very good course with Knut and it gave me a proper kick-start in Norwegain!
A very skilled teacher
Knut is a very skilled teacher. He combines good teaching with a sense of humour. He is a pleasant person and the lessons we have are tailored to our individual needs. For us it means not so much grammar, but more training with daily Norwegian conversations.

I’ve been learning Norwegian with Knut Lyngstad now for several years, and have kept going from complete beginner up to B1 now, as I really enjoy his approach, his humor and the richness of not just learning language in a traditional way, but also through history, culture, context, etc. Highly recommend!
You never get bored
Knut is a professional teacher. The lesson has a good flow and you never get bored even through grammatical exercises! He’s precise , clear, friendly and patient. He will make sure that you understood everything before he will go further. He also got a good sense of humor. Knut speaks Italian very well and has a good knowledge of Italian grammar which made learning the Norwegian language easier for me. In eight months I’ve been able to reach the b1 level. Highly recommended!

Enjoyable and valuable experience
I had the honor to take the classes of Norwegian with Knut. The classes were very interesting and engaging, Knut is an amazing teacher, very patient with students, great at explaining the subject matter in various ways to make it fit the student’s preferred learning style, which makes Norwegian with him a particularly enjoyable and valuable experience. Knut makes sure to actively involve you in the language and he also introduces you to the peculiarities of Norwegian culture, which is an indispensable component of studying a foreign language. Overall, I would absolutely recommend everyone Norwegian with Knut.
